Pre-requisites and Make Up Policy
Pre-requisites
- AP-1, AP-2
We recommend
that students who are new to Annoyance start with AP-1. It is less
expensive than our other classes by design: first, we want to offer
you the opportunity to 'test the waters' and decide if you like the
way we approach improv - and we want to give you every chance to
develop a strong foundation before moving ahead to our more advanced
classes. Also, our AP-1 teachers are excellent, and we're confident
that you will benefit from studying with any and all of our teachers,
no matter your level of previous experience.
Note: If you have previously
completed one full year of improv training at Second City or ImprovOlympic
you may enroll for AP-2. Please be sure and briefly detail your prior
experience in the section where you are asked, in the registration
form.
- AP3
Students interested in enrolling in AP3 are required to complete AP2.
- Mick Napier, Electives and Workshops
Special workshops and electives are
offered from time to time and specific pre-requisites for enrollment will
vary, but we always ask that students complete AP3 before taking advanced
electives or workshops.
Internships/Work-Study
We get many many requests from students each term who would like to do an internship or some sort of work-study in exchange for classes. Obviously, we cannot accommodate all or even most of these requests. We have a long waiting list of people who have asked to be considered for these spots when they become available.
Make Up Policy
If you know that you're going to miss a class, please call and let us know so that we can get a message to your teacher. You may attend another class of the same level during that week AS LONG AS YOU HAVE CALLED/EMAILED TO MAKE ARRANGEMENTS WITH US. It will be at the instructor's discretion whether you play or audit.

"I have learned, enjoyed, and been inspired by the instructors at the Annoyance."
"I am a student in , and I'm not a theater person, yet my experience has been remarkable --even life-changing ... My teacher is extermely supportive. I never feel stupid or wrong. The class gives me the courage to take risks and expand my behavior into new areas. My lens on the world has changed: many more parts of life than I had thought are just plain funny!"
"I am always taken back by Mick's candor and vulnerability - he is inspiring to me, because he is himself all the time. No pretenses, no apologies. A whole person. And he is able to be present and be there with you, always trying to help you grow. Always supportive. "
"I have appreciated every minute of class. Some are terrifying, others are joyful. This is a GREAT PROGRAM! Who knows what will happen next, but this has been wonderful. For my first taste of improv, this was the best choice."
