Show Title

Yippee! We spent 3 hours yesterday discussing a show title. While this seems a bit long, it's not all that uncommon. After much undue (and amusing at times) hateful banter, everyone finally agreed on one.

Mobius Strip Show

Now I think most people might hate it. A day later I'm not even sure if I like it. Here's why we named it that. If you don't know, a mobius strip is a two dimensional surface that has only one side. It's hard to explain.....but it's a thing that constantly comes back on to itself and is infinite yet finite. Man, I'm sure that helps. Anyway, it's kinda what I'd like the show to do, constantly restore moments for itself and go on little tangents that loop back around, etc. The strip part is a slight pun because we have a scene which involves a stripper.
Now my prediction is that I will go in today and a lot of people will hate it and we'll settle for something else and that will take another hour. I hope so, it will amuse me greatly.

Thursdays

Thursdays are the busiest day of the week for me. I have rehearsal then I have to cab it up to The Annoyance and teach a class, then immediately go back to Second City for the show and the set......then have a scotch. Today I hope to look at a scene I'm uncomfortable with in the show, and add a couple of other fun scenes we've been doing in the set. One of the scenes is an improvised super hero piece a la Rachel that is very fun and physical (thank God). The other one is a silent scene about folding a flag. Silence.....another welcome energy in the show. Quite often, what I have planned for rehearsal doesn't happen. That doesn't bother me, as long as something is getting done. Later...
