Shecky Kulhan: Amuse Bouche
Ladies and Gentleman, step right up and prepare yourselves to be amused
and mystified as you journey through the horrors and the depths of 'that
which amuses the mouth.' A menacing emcee and German Cabaret Sidekick will
be your guides as you ride through a carnival of the mouth meeting vaudevillian
comedians, theatrical magicians, sultry singers, and distortions of reality.
Shecky
Kulhan: Amuse-Bouche marks the fifth solo performance of Bob Kulhan's
vast 12-year Chicago-based career, which includes top honors
at Scotland's Edinburgh Fringe Festival, The Singapore Arts Festival,
and Chicago Improv Festival's 2005 Ensemble of the Year. Calling
upon his improv experience with Apollo's Baby Wants Candy and iO's
Armando Diaz, and his theatre experience as a company member of
TUTA (The Utopian Theatre Asylum), Kulhan combines comedy, cabaret,
and twisted physical delights.
The World Premiere of Shecky Kulhan: Amuse-Bouche
features a supporting
cast of Ryan McPheeters, collaborative artistic consultation
of Chicago's top directors, including Zeljko Djukic (TUTA) and Mick
Napier (Annoyance, The Second City). Costume Design inspired
by Natasha Djukic; Lighting Design inspired by Keith Parham; Original
Music Composition by Alex Burke; and Graphic Design by Dave Gilley.
